A very limited invited competition entry for a speculative office building on a highly visible narrow corner site with street level rental showroom space and multi level underground parking. The design concept was driven by the client’s desire for an iconic but economically viable work of architecture on this main avenue of Nicosia, along with a requirement that a 3 by 10 meter illuminated sign be incorporated into the design.
The entire primary façade is unified by an undulating structural metal screen and floor to ceiling glass, which is modulated to control the movement of the sun from east to south, while opening up on the south avenue facing corner to provide maximum views onto the avenue. There are access bridges to the typical floors from the oval concrete core which rises through the full height of the entrance atrium.
The penthouse office suite is entered through a rooftop garden.
