Athanasios Kyriacou is Consultant Engineer for Theo. David Architects & KAL Engineering and a Partner of KAL Engineering since 1981. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aqua-Masters Ltd, specializing in swimming pools, water parks, and landscaping. Previously, he was Senior Engineer and Director of the Engineering Department at the Hellenic Mining Company.
He received his B.Sc. Engineering (Hons/AGGI) and M.Sc. Engineering in Concrete Structures and Technology from the University of London Imperial College of Science and Technology in 1970 and 1971, respectively.
Mr. Kyriacou has also served as Guest Lecturer at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture in New York and as External Examiner at the Higher Technical Institute of Cyprus.
He is a member of The Institution of Civil Engineers M.I.C.E. (U.K.) and Chartered Engineer of The Engineering Council (U.K.), as well as a member of the Cyprus Scientific & Technical Chamber.
As Consulting Engineer for TDA/KAL and KAL Engineering, he has been instrumental in developing the building technology and structural concepts of major projects such as: the Nice Day Developments Tower 25 designed by Jean Nouvel, the Universal Tower in Nicosia, the New House of Representatives building by KPF in Nicosia, the New Harare International Airport in Zimbabwe, the Museum of Science and Technology in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the New G.S.P. Stadium and Athletic Center in Nicosia, and the “Spyros Kyprianou” Sports Arena in Limassol.
